DIMITRIS PANOUSOS

Dimitris Panousos is a PhD candidate in Public International Law at the European University Institute (scholar of the Hellenic State Scholarships Foundation - IKY) and a Researcher at the AthensPIL since May 2020. His research focuses on general international law with a specific interest to the law of the sea.

Dimitris studied law at the University of Athens (LL.B., cum laude) and holds two LL.M. degrees: in International and European Law from the University of Athens (Valedictorian, summa cum laude) and in Public International Law, with a specialisation in Law of the Sea and International Environmental Law, from Utrecht University (cum laude). He is a qualified lawyer and a member of the Piraeus Bar Association.

He has also held editorial positions at several international law journals: as Assistant Editor at the Transnational Environmental Law Journal (TEL); as Assistant Editor at the European Journal of International Law (EJIL); as an Editor-in-Chief and Head of Section in International Law at the European Journal of Legal Studies (EJLS); and as an Executive Editor at the Utrecht Journal of International and European Law (UJIEL).

His areas of interest include: general international law, international law of the sea, international humanitarian law and international dispute settlement.
