DIMITRIS PANOUSOS

Dimitris Panousos is a PhD candidate in Public International Law at the European University Institute (scholar of the Hellenic State Scholarships Foundation - IKY) and a Researcher at the AthensPIL since May 2020. His research focuses on general international law with a specific interest to the law of the sea. Parallel to that, he is the Editor-in-Chief of the European Journal of Legal Studies (EJLS).

Dimitris has studied law at the University of Athens (LL.B. - cum laude) and holds two LL.M. degrees: one in International and European Law from the University of Athens (Valedictorian/Summa cum laude) and one in Public International Law (specialisation Law of the Sea and International Environmental Law) from the University of Utrecht (cum laude). Dimitris is a qualified lawyer with the Pireaus Bar Association.

Besides his two mother tongues, Greek and French, he is proficient in English and Spanish. His interest areas include: general international law, international law of the sea, international humanitarian law and international dispute settlement.
