ATHENSPIL RESEARCH EXCHANGE MEETINGS

The Research Exchange is a monthly meeting bringing together AthensPIL young researchers, PhD candidates, recent doctorate holders, and postgraduate students on public international law to present their current research to faculty and peers. The Research Exchange aims to foster discussions on both substance and method and will be focused on constructive talks and feedback.

Researchers present either concluded, on-going, or planned research on a public international law subject. They can also share written work-in-progress to be discussed, in which case the convenors will distribute it to attendants beforehand. Presentation structure and supporting material are up to the presenter (eg optional use of presentation software etc), but their length should be of 20 minutes max to allow ample time for conversation.

Our goal is twofold: to create a community of graduate researchers and to give early career scholars the opportunity to get valuable feedback. In order to do this, we try to invite highly qualified discussants with knowledge of the sub-field of the presenter or have more than one presenter when the topics complement and converse with each other.

Meetings are hybrid, taking place at AthensPIL premises and online via zoom. They are generally held once a month on Wednesday and last from 18:00 to 19:30.
