DIMITRIS PANOUSOS

Dimitris Panousos is a PhD candidate in Public International Law at the European University Institute (scholar of the Hellenic State Scholarships Foundation - IKY) and a Researcher at the AthensPIL since May 2020. His research focuses on general international law with a specific interest to the law of the sea. Parallel to that, he is the Head of Section on International Law at the European Journal of Legal Studies (EJLS).

Dimitris has studied law at the University of Athens (LL.B. - cum laude) and holds two LL.M. degrees: one in International and European Law from the University of Athens (Valedictorian/Summa cum laude) and one in Public International Law (specialisation Law of the Sea and International Environmental Law) from the University of Utrecht (cum laude). Dimitris is a qualified lawyer with the Pireaus Bar Association.

Besides his two mother tongues, Greek and French, he is proficient in English and Spanish. His interest areas include: general international law, international law of the sea, international humanitarian law and international dispute settlement.
