LECTURES BY PROFESSOR STEVEN FREELAND

On 22 and 23 March 2017, Athens PIL, in collaboration with the Department of International Studies of the Faculty of Law of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, hosted two lectures by Professor Steven Freeland, Dean of the School of Law and Professor of International Law at Western Sydney University. On 22 March, Professor Free- land delivered a lecture on the topic “Is the International Criminal Court Really a Good Idea?”, while his second lecture on 23 March was dedicated to “Technology and Politics - Addressing the Challenges for Space Law Over the Next Decade”. The lectures were largely attended by undergraduate and graduate law students and practitioners, who engaged in vivid discus- sions with the speaker. Professor Freeland also accepted the invitation by Lecturer G. Kyriakopoulos to participate in the course Public International Law on 20 March, and also contributed in an open event on Introduction to Space Law, with Lecturer G. Kyriakopoulos and Dr. Michael Chatzipanagiotis.
