INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON “THE FUTURE OF GLOBAL LAW”

Athens PIL welcomed a number of prominent international scholars to discuss and exchange ideas on the changing nature the international community and international law. The speakers discussed how the future legal environment will look like, what are the effects of globalisation in international law and what are the big dilemmas faced by the international community today. The purpose of the Athens Symposium was to provide food for thought and attempt to give some first answers to a number of key issues that arise from the contemporary international environment.

The Keynote Address was delivered by Mr. Prokopios Pavlopoulos, President of the Hellenic Republic on “The predominence of ‘financial’ over ‘institutional’. From the democratically ‘institutional’ to the financially ‘structured’ regulatory power of the rule of law”.
