SANDRINE DE HERDT

Sandrine has obtained her LLB in both Law and History from the University Saint-Louis, Belgium and an LLM in Public International Law from the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium. She also has benefitted from two exchange programs with Göttingen University, Germany and Laval University, Canada. At Laval University, she worked on a projet on the legal status of the Northwest Passage under the supervision of Prof. Kristin Bartenstein. During her studies, she completed internships at the International Seabed Authority, Jamaica and the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, Germany. 

She is a Lecturer (Law of the Sea, Environmental Law) at Jindal Global Law School, O.P. Jindal Global University, Sonipat, India where she is notably working on the Law of the Sea issues from a regional perspective. She worked at the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea as an Associate Legal Officer. She has consulted the International and Comparative Law Research Center, Russia.

Moreover, she was a visiting researcher at the K.G. Jebsen Centre for the Law of the Sea, Arctic University of Norway. She has participated in NILOS Moot Court Competition – Netherlands Institute for the Law of the Sea (Utrecht University) as a coach.

Her fields of interest are Public International Law, Law of the Sea, International Environment Law, and International Dispute Settlement.
