CIVIS COURSES ON OCEAN LAW AND GOVERNANCE

AthensPIL is very pleased to participate in the online courses on Ocean Law and Governance, organised by CIVIS. Among the teaching staff is Prof. Maria Gavouneli, Faculty member of AthensPIL, who will deliver a couple of lectures on ocean governance.

The webinars on Ocean Law Governance jointly offered by the Aix Marseille Université – AMU and the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens – NKUA aim at providing an interdisciplinary insight of the legal, institutional and policy-making dimensions pertaining to contemporary ocean affairs.

The programme includes an introductory course on the legal and institutional framework of ocean governance, as well as six specialized courses on different ocean policy domains that are at the forefront of ocean management today: Maritime spatial planning; Energy at sea and marine scientific research; International Governance of Marine Living Resources; Environmental law, including response to plastic pollution; Maritime transport and port infrastructure law.
