🌊The Athens Public International Law Center (Athens PIL), National & Kapodistrian University of Athens and the World Maritime University-Sasakawa Global Ocean Institute (WMU-GOI) will co-host a #BBNJ Roundtable Seminar on Friday 16 January 2026 at the Senate room of the central building of the NKUA in Athens.
The hybrid BBNJ Roundtable Seminar -in recognition of the BBNJ Agreement Entering Into Force- will mark the recent signatures and ratifications of the BBNJ Agreement and explore the role of non-parties and adjacent states in supporting its implementation.
🌍 Experts will discuss preparations for the first COP, Mediterranean perspectives, leadership by Small Island Developing States (SIDS), capacity sharing, and the role of marine technology in advancing ocean governance.
