2016-2017

During the academic year 2016-2017, the Trade Law Clinic project with the Small Enterprises’ Institute of the Hellenic Confederation of Professionals, Craftsmen and Merchants (IME GSEVEE), the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV), Greenpeace Greece and WWF Greece, involved as project partners, continued its research activities on the following main areas of concern: a) EU’s Action Plan for Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade & WTO law, b) Council Regulation (EC) No 1005/2008 of 29 September 2008 establishing a Community system to prevent, deter and eliminate illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing & international trade, c) Trade defence & Greek Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs), d) Compatibility of the Russian import ban on agricultural products with WTO law, e) Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) & Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), f) Capacity mechanisms for electricity & the WTO Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures, g) Feed-in tariff schemes for renewable energy in the light of the WTO Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures, h) Imposition of sanctions in antitrust cases & international economic law, i) EU ‘s Free Trade Agreements with Canada, Singapore and Japan, and j) Intellectual Property Protection in China.

The Trade Law Clinic’s respective findings for the academic year 2016-2017 were consolidated in legal memos/reports which were presented at a special conference held on the 14th of June 2017 at the premises of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
