NEW RESEARCH PROJECT BY DR. EFTHYMIOS PAPASTAVRIDIS - EUMARSEC 2020+

A 3-years Postdoctoral Research Project funded by the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation has just commenced at the Athens Public International Law Center

 

Following on the remarkable tradition of the Athens Public International Law Center (Athens PIL), Athens Law School, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, in conducting leading funded-research projects, we are delighted to announce that Dr Efthymios Papastavridis’ (Fellow, Athens PIL) research project, entitled "EU Maritime Security post-2020" (EUMARSEC 2020+), has just commenced at the Athens PIL Center. EUMARSEC 2020+ was included in the list of the research projects to receive funding under the “2nd Call for H.F.R.I. research projects to support Post-Doctoral Researchers”. The funding, worth of 135.308,00 , will be for three (3) years (2021-2024). 

Dr Papastavridis’ research proposal was ranked 4th out of 148 proposals in total submitted under the Scientific Area ‘Social Sciences’, and out of 48 that were successful in the first evaluation phase. Notably, it is one of the only two research projects in the above Scientific Area that has received funding to be conducted at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and the only respective project at the Athens Law School.

The research project of Dr Papastavridis will be conducted at the premises of the Athens PIL Center. The research team comprises postdoctoral and doctoral researchers and will be assisted by an Advisory Board of distinguished academics and experts in the field.
