MARIA PASCHOU

Maria is a Greek qualified lawyer, having graduated with an LL.B. from the Democritus University of Thrace (2017), an LL.M. in Public International Law from the University of Athens (2018), as well as the MIDS LL.M. in International Dispute Settlement from the University of Geneva & the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (2020). Her research focuses on the topic of necessary (or ‘indispensable’) third parties in international dispute settlement in general and investment treaty arbitration in particular. 

Maria is currently working as an International Arbitration and Public International Law Trainee at the International Arbitration Practice Group of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Paris, France. Previously she worked with Hanotiau & van den Berg in Brussels, Belgium, and Lambadarios Law Firm in Athens, Greece. Her main areas of practice are public international law, international dispute settlement, investment treaty arbitration, and international commercial arbitration. She is fluent in English and Greek, while she also has intermediate knowledge of French and Spanish
